Art - Tips on Glass painting

Previous | Next
Hello everyone!

Today, I am posting about a glass painting. Glass paintings are vibrant and always add a shiny perspective to the space. These designs are mostly colours filled in outlines with lesser details. Glass paintings emphasise more on lines and colours rather than realism. The semi transparent colours reflect the background through them. Here I have used crushed aluminium foil. One may use any coloured or shiny material. Some also prefer to leave the glass transparent without any background and only frame.

Art - The three trees

Hello everyone!

Digital art is a rapidly growing field. It is fast, easy and portable. Anyone can start drawing within few minutes. I have been working on adobe photoshop and illustrator for 4 years. I tried the adobe ideas app for iPad last month and found it very handy. Great art can be drawn by touching with finger or one can use stylus for better accuracy. The plus point is that it is easily convertible to vector format.  It took me only 5 minutes to create the following vector.

I first created the black outlines using stylus and then filled colour in background layers. Layers are essentially helpful here. Hope you all liked it. Keep tuned for more. You may subscribe us via feed or email. Keep living your hobbies!

Photography - The Violin

Hello everyone,

I have been busy for a few weeks. Today I got some time, so I photographed my Violin! The scene is set near the door to capture the natural light coming from outside. Also I kept the visualisation slightly dark with the violin and bow as the main objects.

I spent about an hour in cleaning the violin, tuning it and rosining the bow. Then organised my working table and I am all set to complete the oil painting left in between owing to busy schedule. So whenever you some time, just live your hobbies!

Hope you'll like these clicks. Keep tuned for more and subscribe us through emails.

Poem - The river of Time

Finding myself amidst,
the river flowing so fast,
nothing seemed so fixed that
more than a moment it would last.

On seeing to my side,
I found I was not alone,
Before I knew much about anyone,
I realised they were gone.

Looking for an anchor,
with water and water all around,
happy to see at an arm's distance,
the stable, immovable ground.

Pushing myself out of the river,
getting up, firmly on land I stood,
waving hands to others flowing with the river,
It was River of the time, I understood.

Featured - Making Crochet bag by Eli Salvans

About the Artist

Eli Salvans lives in Sabadell (Barclona, Spain). She studied history of art at university, (Univesitat Autònoma de Bellaterra). She likes painting, drawing, sewing, knitting, recycling, embroidery, all kinds of crafts, photography, literature and likes to try new ideas. She is 50 years old and virtually self-taught, for all.  But her grandmother taught her basic points for crochet. In spite of not having a family history in the world of art, from younger stage she demonstrated her interest in the Plastic Expression, that with the time evolved into her own personal style.

Making the Crochet bag

Eli makes very beautiful crochet bags. Here she is sharing the step by step process. It is an interesting DIY, a must try for those who know crochet.

She spins the used wool into yarns. You can use new wool too.

This is the design layout for the bag. It shows how small hexagons will be joined together.

This is a simple crochet hexagon. You can choose your own inner pattern.

After stitching all the hexagons together, she attached the handles to the main body.

Now the inner lining cloth and the zip are attached

A beautiful pink ribbon bow and small pink beads give the bag a trendy look.
